One Last Thing Before I Study!

posted in Training, Technology, Running Music |

So, I wanted to post one last time before I hunker down and study my property book. I have a few playlists that I use when I run, so I thought I would post my general playlist to solicit comments. I also have one for oldies, dance music, strictly They Might Be Giants, and even some of the nike ones. Anyway, they are by no means perfected… and I’ll probably be adding and deleting songs fairly regularly. Anyway, here is what I have for now. The ones that are hyperlinks lead to iTunes. If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a huge Apple fan, and I’m writing this on a mac, and I like my mac. So, anyway… here it is:

If anyone has any suggestions for additions, I’m always game to hear them!

    Jamiroquai - That’s the stuff.

Congrats on the blog, the progress, the goals, the music… everything.

Hello, I saw your comment at Angie’s and since you mentioned a weight loss, I wanted to come by and encourage. Sometime ago I also lost weight - not as much but went from 182 to 117 in 2 years, after another 2 years I bounced some back to 135 where I am staying now. So a good 50lbs counts:) I am also a big advocate of running, and I hope you find a passion with it.
Best of luck training for a marathon!

Thanks Dean and Olga! Yeah. I went from 255 (originally, although was down to 222 when I made the real push) to 125. And that’s roughly where I’ve stayed since hitting this weight. It fluctuates between 125 to 128… after my cruise vacation I was at 132, but that quickly dropped back down. I think this is probably just where my body’s natural equilibrium is. I’d like to improve my nutrition, but it’s always a work in progress. :) You both have great blogs, so I will definitely be following the runner blogging community for inspiration and motivation to stick with it!

If you get some non-musical audio going (like maybe the pimsluer or an audiobook) you’ll forget you’re running altogether! But if you insist on music, I might suggest Arctic Monkeys. Pop music has an easy rhythm, I think… I’ve also got a 30 song TMBG mix tape :)

Pimsleur would be fine, except that trying to run and remember and speak Japanese at the same time might be above my cognitive abilities. I’ve got an entire playlist of TMBG. I have every song they’ve ever released… I think. Would have to do some kind of check with the Johns to find that one out. :)
